New Creations 2014

I've finally figured out how to get pics from my phone to my laptop via the iCloud.  What a learning curve!  I'm posting 2 sets of photos.

The first, titled Stationary Box, is from a Pinterest post.

Two instructional videos that can be found at Dannie's Designs :

This project seemed pretty intimidating at first, but if you take good notes and follow the measurement exactly, it will turn out fine.

The stationary box opens to reveal 3 compartments.  One for standard (A-2) cards and envelopes.A place for 3" x 3" gift cards, and one for gift tags  I added an envelop for address labels and one for stamps.

For my A-2 cards I selected a butterfly pattern from the Mariposa stack (DCWV).  I love that stack - and the full sheet of butterflies fit right in with my blue and yellow theme.

I used a 'One Page Wonder'  (OSW) pattern for a 6" x 6" sheet of patterened paper also found of Pinterest. FYI - a web search yielded lots of OSW patterns for 6" x 6", 8 1/2" x  11:, and 12" x 12" sizes of paper.

A New Year 2014

What difference does a year make?  Well for one thing, a year ago I posted about zentangles and watching the Superbowl  This year I watched the Seattle Seahawks WIN the Superbowl!

I've been busy with my art projects.  Working on a spiritual journal with my favorite quotations.  After much reading and exploration I've determined that I am NOT an art journalist - yet.  My journal pages tend to be neat, clean and interactive.  I hope I get the courage to go back to some of them and make them more...arty...creative...layered.  Hmmm.  Sounds like a plan.
